Making with Clay

I discovered my passion of pottery during a taster workshop on the wheel in 2010. I have never thought I can do so much with a lump of clay, and I certainly didn't think making with clay would become my career back then. Over the years, pottery teaches me way more than the techniques and the understanding of beauty. It teaches me to discover different aspects of living, the variability and consistency during the process, and the appreciation of things that appear to be standing still but are changing, such as a stone in a stream, forever being shaped.

About Clover

I was born and raised in Guangdong, China. I found my passion in art during my youth and started practising pottery making in London since 2011. After watching the first series of The Great Pottery Throw Down TV show, I was inspired to become a craft potter, and I participated in the second series of the show, where I finished as a finalist. My works are largely influenced by traditional Chinese and Japanese culture, inspired by the interaction of nature and human to promote flow of energy and harmony. My recent works are mostly functional items with a combination of wheel throwing and hand building techniques. I am particularly interested in alternative firing methods such as Raku and pit-firing. I regularly exhibits and sells my works in various conventions nationwide.
